CLASHES IN YOBE STATE BETWEEN THE NIGERIAN ARMY AND THE NIGERIAN POLICE, FOUR DEAD AND NUMEROUS INJURED.
It has been reported that clashes between the military and the police in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital has left at least four people dead.
Although the cause of the clash was not yet known, it was reported that the town has been thrown into confusion with people fleeing from left to right not to get killed.
Financial institutions, government establishments and people who
opened their places of businesses were forced to close early because of
the upheaval. It was a a thing of shock as people flee their shops and ran for their lives.
The State Commissioner for Police, Mr Sumonu Andulmaliki, who
confirmed the incident said men in military uniform have abducted the
Squadron Commander of Mopol 41, Damaturu CSP, Dauda Fika.
Meanwhile, the military Spokesman in the state, Colonel Kayode
Ogunsoya, in a statement said a committee has been set up to end the
clash.
